Newsletter - March 15th, 2013

Posted: March 21st, 2013

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Our collective agreement expired on March 3rd, 2013. In light of the fact that we are considered essential services, we cannot strike. So, we must go through our process of negotiations.

We have 2 grievances in the system concerning policies pertaining to the EAP program and vacations.

As you may know by now, we had an incident in our kitchen on March 3rd, 2013. I wish to thank all our members who acted so very quickly to contain this situation.

I would also like to thank all of you who pitched in for our clean up and restoration of our kitchen which ensured that our residents were not affected.

If you have any questions or issues, please contact your representatives to help you out.

You have the right to union representation when you are asked in the supervisor’s office.

REMINDER: Your representatives are not the Union. We, the workers are the Union and together, we stand strong.

In Solidariy,

Carol Varey, Unit Chair,
