Hello Brothers and Sisters,

The Tentative dates to resume negotiations are April 13-16th.

I've heard rumors that two sets of investors have been in and looking the mine over.

Our Quarterly Joint Stewards meeting was on Friday the 19th. At the meeting I learned that the Worker Support Center in Sudbury is going to stay open till the end of the year rather than closing in June as had been scheduled.

Dennis (Felix) Chartrand has been elected as the new Compensation and Health and Welfare Officer for the Local.

The position of Recording Secretary still has to be voted again on and the runoff race is between Dwight Harper and Dave Steward.

Most of the Lafarge workers are back on the job and the rest of them will be by the end of the month.

During the upcoming construction of a new Union Hall at the Richard Lake Campgrounds there will be two laid off workers from Local 598 hired that are skilled in the carpentry trade. Resumes should be at the workers support center c/w a cover letter before April 9th 2010. Every laid off worker should be getting a letter in the mail about this.

That’s all for now.
